Priyanka Chopra’s Manager Reveals Many Prominent People From Bollywood Were 'Negative' About Her; Said She Was 'Wasting Time' On Her
Priyanka Chopra’s manager Anjula Acharia says that prominent people from Bollywood were negative about her and told her she was wasting time on her
Priyanka Chopra who is now an international icon, had begun her International career with her single, In My City in 2012. The actress’ manager Anjula Acharia who handled her projects in the West, shared how people from the film fraternity told her that she is wasting time on PeeCee and there is no career for her. However, she chose to stick with the diva who has over the period of time made her mark on the world map.
During her interview with Forbes, she recalled the moment when she was at a dinner at her friend Manish Goyal residence in New York. She said, “I remember when I first signed Priyanka, there were a lot of people, particularly in India, who were so negative. I was at this dinner, at my friend Manish Goyal's house in New York, with some prominent people from the Hindi film industry and they were just so negative about her. They were like, ‘She is never going to work, I don't know why you are wasting your time’, blah blah.”
She revealed being hurt with people’s opinion of her, but she would see in PeeCee’s eyes that she had that spark. “I remember feeling really hurt actually, at the time. I remember being like, 'Am I wasting my time?' But this is where your self-belief comes in. It seemed like a crazy dream, right, to bring somebody from India to Hollywood? But I got to tell you, when I look in Priyanka's eyes, I just believe. Priyanka is just undeniable, she is a disruptor,” added Anjula Acharia.
