Radhika Apte’s Stripping Scene In Badlapur Got Her Sex Comedy Offers, Reveals Actress
At a recent event, Radhika Apte opened about the problematic mindset of the people in the industry. She made a revelation about being offered sex comedies project after she stripped in Varun Dhawan starrer Badlapur
Radhika Apte is one of the most versatile actresses in Bollywood, even though she is known as the owner of Netflix. However, whenever an actress is stripping down or does any bold scenes onscreen, she is automatically termed as a seductress and since then every filmmaker approaches to those actresses hoping to do the same in their films also. Well, Radhika Apte also falls in this list when she was offered to do a sex comedy project after she stripped in Varun Dhawan starrer Badlapur. During We The Women event, the actress spoke about the problematic mindset of the people in the industry who considers her a ‘seductress.’
While talking to Barkha Dutt, Radhika made the revelation about the kind of films she has turned down was quoted by Indian Express, saying, “Comedy franchise films and sex comedies. I was offered a sex comedy after I did Badlapur. Because I stripped and I had done a short film, Ahalya, they said ‘you are constantly playing the role of a seductress.’ I said, ‘can you tell me where’? They said Ahalya and Badlapur. I have been rejecting so much work. I don’t know if it is good for me or not.”
Not only this, but she also talked about the gender equality issue in the industry and was quoted saying, “I don’t think they are talking about equality on many occasions. I don’t find myself in agreement with a lot of people. It is isolating. I sometimes wonder whether I am a bitter, cynical person or am I not getting something.”
