Ananya Panday Was ‘Shocked’ That She Was Offered To Play The ‘Woh’ In Pati Patni Aur Woh- EXCLUSIVE
Ananya Panday couldn't believe it at first that the makers of Pati Patni Aur Woh have approached her to play the second woman in the Kartik Aaryan-Bhumi Pednekar starrer. Watch the VIDEO to know how she convinced herself to do this role
The original Pati Patni Aur Woh that released in 1978 was a classic film that starred Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur in main roles. Now, after several decades, the film is being remade with the same title and this time, we have Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday reprising the roles.
The trio is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring their film creates a huge buzz. Before the movie hits screens on Dec 6, we caught up with Kartik and Ananya to talk about their film at length.
Amidst our conversation, we asked Ananya id she instantly agreed to playing the Woh in the film and the actress said, “I was actually shocked because when they came to me with the film, I genuinely thought that I will be offered the wife's role. I had a feeling that everyone imagines me in the Patni vibe. Stereo-typically, the Woh is known to be a home-breaker but then I read the script and was refreshed with the way Tapasya's character was written.”
Ananya added, “Tapasya is like a breath of fresh air, she is young, strong and independent. She has a lot of self respect and she is very empathetic. Just because she is a Woh, it doesn't make her a bad person. So, I found that very refreshing and that's why I decided to do the role.”
We pointed out that the role was earlier being offered to Taapsee Pannu and she was upset about it. Ananya disagreed to it and stated that as far as she knows, "the role of Tapasya was always offered to her first."
Directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by T-Series, Renu Ravi Chopra and Juno Chopra, Pati Patni Aur Woh is slated to release on Dec 6.
