Raj Thackeray: Karan Johar And Shah Rukh Khan Will Have To Give 5 Cr As Penalty For Casting Pakistani Artistes

Few hours back, SpotboyE.com told you about Karan Johar’s relief moment when MNS Chief Raj Thackeray gave his nod to release Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on Oct 28(BIG RELIEF: Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Will RELEASE; MNS Chief Raj Thackeray Gives His Nod, Oct 22 2016).

However, along with his nod has come a heavy penance for all the producers who have cast Pakistani artistes in their films.

While addressing a press conference post his meeting with Karan Johar, Mukesh Bhatt, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sajid Nadiadwala at CM Devendra Fadnavis’ residence, MNS Chief Raj Thackeray said,

“All the producers who are working with Pakistani artistes will have to contribute 5 crore towards the Army Relief Fund as a penalty. Be it Karan Johar, be it Shah Rukh Khan or any other producer,”

He further added, “They will also have to give a written confirmation that they will not work with any Pakistani artistes, technician or singer in the future.”

With Raj Thackeray's recent demand, looks like Shah Rukh Khan's Raees will also have to pay a penalty for casting Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in the film.

As far as Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is concerned, there are certain guidelines which Karan has been asked to follow. Firstly, that he will acknowledge and pay tribute to the martyrs before the film begins.
Secondly, Karan will contribute to the Martyrs fund irrespective how his film performs and earns at the box office.

Karan has graciously agreed to both.

So will the producers give in to Raj Thackeray’s demands? Or it will take a series of other meetings to convince MNS Chief to withdraw the penalty off the producers head. SpotboyE.com will keep you updated.
