Actor Rajesh Khatter has reacted to bankruptcy rumours and refuted them. Rajesh Khatter opened up after his wife, actress Vandana Sajnani had spoken about facing a financial crunch during an interview. Rajesh Khatter admitted that he has suffered a financial setback, but explained how it has happened with almost everyone during the lockdown. Khatter also pointed out on the fact that his son Ishaan Khatter and brother Shahid Kapoor’s name was dragged into it. He said it was all in ‘bad taste’.
Speaking with the Times of India, Rajesh Khattar explained that the statement made by his wife, actress Vandana was taking into account the money they have spent on medical and hospital bills. He said, “It was a statement made by Vandana taking into account the kind of money we have spent on medical and hospital bills in recent times. A few hours later, her statement was blown out of proportion and it went viral. People said that I was broke. Mere paas khaane ke paise nahi hain. Soon, I started getting messages from my relatives and others offering to help! Things went out of hand in no time.”
Talking about Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter’s names being connected to it all, the senior actor said, “That was in bad taste. They dragged them into it. We actors are accustomed to the occupational hazards of such baseless rumours circulating, but this was a bit much. God forbid, if I ever reach that stage, I have my family to support me. Everyone is going through a difficult time and being sensitive is the need of the hour.” Rajesh Khatter also made a post on his Instagram, refuting bankruptcy rumours. He expressed he was upset.
For the unversed, Vandana Sajnani has shared that most of Rajesh Khatter and her savings have been exhausted due to medical utilities. She has mentioned how there has been a dearth of work because of the lockdown as well. After reports of Khatter’s bankruptcy, the actor received calls from relatives and friends who asked him for help.
