Ranbir Kapoor to take on Netas for a good cause

Come May 15 and Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will witness some of Bollywood’s biggest stars -- Ranbir Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan included -- battling against a few Members of Parliament (MPs) in a game of football.

Ranbir Kapoor to take on Netas for a good cause

Come May 15 and Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will witness some of Bollywood’s biggest stars -- Ranbir Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan included -- battling against a few Members of Parliament (MPs) in a game of football.

Hindi film industry has always enjoyed a strong connection with the neta log and the two have now decided to put their best feet forward -- literally -- for a cause.  

Half of the proceeds from the match will go to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Skill India, a Central Government initiative that aims to train 40 crore people in various skills.

The MPs’ team will have Anurag Thakur, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and footballer and Arjuna Award-winner Prasun Banerjee.

Both Ranbir and Bachchan Jr are known football fanatics and often catch up for friendly matches during weekends. Ranbir even owns a football team -- Mumbai City Football Club -- as part of
Indian Super League football franchise.
