Randhir Kapoor Reveals The Family Is Missing Late Rajiv Kapoor; Opens Up On Birthday Get Together And Says ‘It Was A Small Meet-Up, There Was No Celebration’

Randhir Kapoor turned a year older on Monday. Last night, his family members, including daughter Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, son-in-law Saif Ali Khan and others came over to his residence to wish him. Other family members spotted were Alia Bhatt, Neetu Kapor, Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. As the family gathered for a small celebration at Randhir Kapoor’s home, he shared some details about the night. Randhir Kapoor, who lost his brother Rajiv Kapoor recently, also revealed the family is missing him.
Speaking with ETimes, Randhir Kapoor mentioned the family get together at his residence last night was nothing but a solemn affair. He mentioned it was a small meet-up and not a celebration. He said, “It was a small meet-up. A solemn affair. There was no celebration.” Randhir Kapoor added, “We are missing my younger brother Rajiv. He passed away last week due to a heart attack. It was a shocking, sudden death. We are yet to come to terms with it.”
Talking about his late brother Rajiv Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor mentioned he was doing well and wasn’t ailing at all. He revealed that Rajiv Kapoor’s untimely loss is harder to accept for the Kapoor family. Randhir Kapoor said, “He wasn’t unwell. He was fine and so the death is harder to accept. But we need to take things in our stride. What other choice do you have.” Speaking about his late brother a little bit more, Kapoor said that he was a wonderful human being. He shared Rajiv Kapoor was warm and affectionate. Randhir Kapoor said, “People didn’t know much about Rajiv because unfortunately, he wasn’t successful and that’s the saddest part. He was a wonderful human being — warm and affectionate.”

The last two years have been tough on the Kapoor family, who lost family members. Looking back at everything, Randhir Kapoor said, “That’s destiny I guess. This is a part of life. If you get good things, you must endure the tough times also.” Meanwhile, towards the end of the interview, Randhir Kapoor mentioned he is extremely happy for daughter Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is expecting her second child with husband Saif Ali Khan. He said he is looking forward to seeing his grandchild. It was only a few days back when the veteran actor had revealed Kareena is due on February 15 i.e today.
