Durga Puja pandal in Mumbai like every year saw Bollywood celebs gracing it to seek the blessings of goddess Durga. After Kajol, Tanisha Mukerji, Ayan Mukerji, Bollywood’s one of the most celebrated actresses and regular visitors, Rani Mukerji too joined the pandal. The actress, who believes in celebrating this festival with much pomp and grandeur, says the celebration is kept low-key due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The actress despite her busy shooting schedule has managed to visit the Durga puja pandal.

Also she told Bombay Times, as the preparation for the same happened 7-8 months in advance back then it was unclear how things would turn out due to the pandemic. Sharing further how the festival marks the coming together of the families she says, “Over the years, my favourite thing about Durga Puja is getting together with the entire family and all my friends during these five days when we enjoy the food, dressing up and connecting with each other.”

Speaking about missing one thing this year, the actress said, “The other thing that we love doing, which we missed this year again, is serving food to the many people who visit our Puja. I think every Bengali, wherever they are in the world, waits for these five days to rejoice with their dear ones.”


Sharing one of the fondest memories from Durga Puja Pandal, she said, “I think my fondest memories would have to be of my daughter Adira attending the Puja in 2019 when she was old enough to enjoy herself and experience everything.
