Ranveer Singh And Deepika Padukone's PDA Moments On Shah Rukh Khan’s Romantic Number; Yeah, Your Monday Is About To Get Very Mushy
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are churning out some serious relationship goals these days, and proof of it is their social media account. Two have been dropping some cute snippets as they pair up for ad commercials and projects. The Dil Dhadakne Do actor dropped two pictures on his INSTA Stories that are enough to explain this star couple being in love. But giving us a meltdown moment are songs played in the background of these mushy pictures.

For the first picture where we can see Deepika wrapping her arms around his shoulder as they both smile, the song played in the background is Yeh Ladki Hai Deewani from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. This romantic track belongs to none other than romance King Shah Rukh Khan’s movie, which was a hit in 1998. While another picture shared by Ranveer has two laughing, has She Drives Me Crazy by Fine Young Cannibals played in the background.

Check out these INSTA Stories of Ranveer Singh below-

Shashikala's 5 Evergreen Melodies You Didn’t Know Were Filmed On Her
Bollywood's famous actress Shashikala passed away yesterday. We bring to you her 5 evergreen songs, which many don't know were picturised on her.

1. Tum jiyo hazaaron saal (Sujata): One of Hindi cinema’s most popular birthday songs sung by Asha Bhosle for Bimal Roy’s Sujata was sung on screen by Shashikala. It became the most popular song of the film beating those other Sachin Dev Burman classics Jalte hain jisske liye and Kali ghata chhaye.

2. Bachpan ke din bhi kya din the (Sujata): Another perennial favourite from S D Burman sung by Geeta Dutt and Asha Bhosle. While Asha sang for Nutan, Geeta’s voice suited Shashikala’s mischievous personality to the hilt.

3. Bheegi bheegi fiza (Anupama): Shashikala actually had a role parallel to Sharmila Tagore in this Hrishikesh Mukherjee classic where Sharmila played the wordless beauty , Shashikala offset the silence with her volubility. Interestingly Sharmilaji had only one song to herself in Anupama(the Lata Mangeshkar classic Kuch dil ne kaha) while Shashikala had two solos in Asha Bhosle’s voice the breezy Bheegi bheegi fiza and the pensive Kyon mujhe itni khushi. Both are gems composed by Hemant Kumar keeping Shashikala’s chul-bully personality in mind.

4. Nain tumhare mazedaar oh janaab-e-ali (Junglee): While Lataji’s voice was reserved for the leading lady, Asha Bhosle chirped in with her seductive tones for this chartbuster filmed on Shashikala and her co-star Anoop Kumar(Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar’s youngest). The result was a quaint Mukesh-Asha love ballad offsetting the rumbustious Qawalli styled Lata-Rafi love duet Mere yaar shabba khair filmed on the lead pair Shammi Kapoor and Saira Banu. No one expected a song filmed on the second lead to be a chartbuster. But it was!

5. Na baaz aaya muqaddar mujhe rulane se (Sunehre Kadam): It wasn’t as if Shashikala never got a chance to play the lead and sing in Lata Mangeshkar’s voice. She did! In this 1966 tearjerker Shashikala wept through two Lata gems Maangne se jo maut mil jati and Na baaz aaya muqaddar composed by Bulo C Rani.

Sharmila Tagore On Shashikala: 'I Wish Hindi Cinema Had Not Typecast Her. But Then That’s The Way It Is'
Popular actress Sharmila Tagore worked in a few films with veteran Shashikala, who breathed her last, yesterday. The actress was 88.

“Shashikalji was already a much-experienced actress whereas I was relatively new when we did Anupama together. It was Hrishida who cast her in a very positive role in Anupama because Hrishida always saw the good in every character. Otherwise Shashikalaji had been typecast as the negative woman, so much that I once heard that during an outdoor shooting the heroine was allowed to use the bathroom in a friendly local’s home, but not Shashikalaji. This is evidence of how convincingly she played the bad woman and how convinced the audience becomes on seeing the on-screen image . I remember once I was shooting on location. After the shot, I unthinkingly took off my wig, and there was collective gasp among the onlookers,” recalls Sharmilaji.

Sharmilaji is all praise for Shashikala in Anupama. “She played a warm-hearted talkative extrovert. I was the introvert. She complimented my character so well.”

She doesn’t remember much interaction with Shashikala during Anupama or Devar. “It’s strange. We were all together during the outdoor shootings. But I don’t have much recollection of interacting with her during the shooting of Anupama or Devar. Shashikalaji was also a prominent part of another film Choti Bahu where I played the lead. During this film, I remember interacting a lot with Nirupa Royji because her son had damaged his eye (Sharmilaji’s husband Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi had a damaged eye). But I can’t remember similar conversations with Shashikalaji.”

What Sharmilaji remembers is Shashikala’s second phase as an actress. “She moved to Pune and did very successful roles and films in Marathi. Like Bengali cinema Marathi cinema has a lot of literary resources to fall back on. She was offered brilliant versatile roles and I really like the work she did in Marathi. That said, I wish Hindi cinema had not typecast her. But then that’s the way it is.”
