Ranveer Singh has been hitting the headline ever since his nude photoshoot for Paper magazine went viral on the internet. A case was filed against Singh before the Maharashtra State Commission for Women in July.
Ranveer Singh was issued a summons by Mumbai Police on August 22, 2022, but he has asked for two weeks time to appear. Singh on Monday, August 29, 2022, appeared at the Chembur Police Station at 7 AM to record his statement before the investigating officer. His statement was recorded till 9:30 AM.
As per the ETimes, the actor in his statement mentioned that he never uploaded controversial pictures and was not aware that his nude photo shoot would create trouble for him.

Earlier on July 26, 2022, the First Information Report (FIR) was filed after receiving a complaint by an office-bearer of the NGO alleging that the actor’s photoshoot hurt the sentiments of women and insulted their modesty.
As per the complainant, the ‘Befikre’ actor should be charged under various sections of IPC (Indian Penal Code) like 292 (sale of obscene books, etc), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young people), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and provisions of the Information Technology Act for the photo shoot.
Meanwhile, he was trolled by netizens. However, many of his friends from the film fraternity like Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Sonu Sood, Rakhi Sawant, and director Ram Gopal Varma came for his support.
On the professional front, Ranveer Singh has Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus with Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez, Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Alia Bhatt, and Anniyan remake with Shankar.
