Ranveer Singh Says Wife Deepika Padukone 'Kicks His Butt In Badminton'; Father-In-Law Prakash Padukone Makes Him 'Run Across The Court
Ranveer Singh opens up on his equation with Deepika Padukone and Prakash Padukone
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh’s love for sports is not hidden from anyone. He is quite a sports enthusiast and often expresses his love for games on several platforms. Recently, the actor was spotted in London after donning the ambassadorial role of the football premier league. Coincidently, the actor is married in a family which is surrounded by sportspersons be it his father-in-law, his sister-in-law, or his very own ladylove Deepika Padukone. Recently, the actor shared what family time looks like at his in-law’s place.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, the ‘Simmba’ actor shared that when he is at Deepika’s house, the family often plays badminton.
Singing praises for his father-in-law’s sportsmanship, Ranveer said that even at the age of 66, “he has still got it”. He added, “Prakash Padukone, my father-in-law, he's still got it. Whenever he picks up a badminton racquet, he puts on a show. He'll stand in one place and make you run the entire court. Then sometimes, when he is in the mood, he will start doing these trick shots, which would blow your mind. He is an absolute legend and the kind of wisdom about life and values that he shares with us as his kids is invaluable.”
Not only does the father-in-law have a competitive spirit, but Ranveer’s wife Deepika too defeats him in badminton. He further revealed that he is still to beat the National level player and his wife in badminton. He was quoted saying, “Deepika kicks my butt in badminton, let me tell you,” he added, saying that though he began dating in 2012, he has never beaten her ever.” It’s not for lack of trying. I am running around sweating. There was a time when she used to beat me under 5 or 10 points. Now I have gotten to 15-16. So, I am getting there but still unable to beat her.”
Meanwhile, talking about his work front, Ranveer Singh will next be seen in the Divyang Thakkar ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’. Besides this, Ranveer has some other big projects that include ‘Cirkus’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ with Alia Bhatt.
