Ashutosh Gowariker's Lagaan starring Aamir Khan in the lead role is one of the greatest movies of all time in the history of Indian cinema. Aamir's phenomenal performance in the movie is still etched in our minds. Well, it's been more than two decades since Lagaan was released. Apart from Aamir, others who were a part of the film also equally won hearts and had delivered a great performance.

Talking about Rachel Shelley, in particular, she essayed the role of Elizabeth, sister of captain Russell (played by Paul Blackthorne), who helps Bhuwan and his team learn the game of cricket. Rachel won the hearts of many with her act. She is 52-years-old now.

In 2017, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Rachel had shared her experience of shooting for Aamir Khan starrer. She was quoted saying, "I had a magical time while shooting for the film. We spent about three to four months for the shoot. I remember it was the first ever mainstream commercial Bollywood film, to use sync sound technology, which meant everyone had to be quiet while the shooting was going on. And that took time for people to get used to. Then I was also overwhelmed to see the concept of spot boys, because in Hollywood things are different, and there aren't many people involved in a film's shoot."

She is married to director-producer Matthew Parkhill. They have a daughter named Eden.
