Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on September 8 by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection to the drugs angle in the actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Before the actress, her brother Showik Chakraborty was also arrested by the NCB. According to a report in the Times Of India, Rhea Chakraborty and brother Showik’s lawyer, Advocate Satish Maneshinde, shared in a statement that they are in no hurry to apply for bail in the High Court after the bail plea was rejected by a special court on Friday. As per the report, Advocate Satish Maneshinde’s statement said, “Even if we get a copy of the Order today, we are not in a hurry and moving immediately… we will study the order, it’s implications and developments in the case at the NCB level and then decide. There’s no room for speculation… once it is filed we will share a copy of the bail application.”
After three days of questioning, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday. Rhea was summoned for questioning after her house was searched by the NCB, which followed brother Showik Chakraborty’s arrest. The NCB got 14-days judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty. The Jalebi actress is lodged at Byculla Jail, while her brother in Taloja jail.

Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty and brother Showik Chakraborty are being investigated by the CNB after their WhatsApp chats mentioned about drugs. The Enforcement Directorate who was investigating the money laundering angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case shared the chats with the NCB. It was Sushant’s father KK Singh who lodged an FIR alleging financial irregularities in the late actor’s bank account. So far, apart from Rhea and her brother Showik, SSR’s staff members Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant including drug peddlers have also been arrested by the NCB, while the Central Bureau of Investigation continues to probe the actor’s sudden demise on June 14.
