A few weeks ago, Payal Ghosh accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct and in an interview, she named three female actors- Richa, Huma Qureshi, and Mahie Gill. Richa Chadha claimed that her name was being unnecessarily and falsely dragged into the Anurag Kashyap controversy. Richa then filed a defamation suit against Payal, Kamaal R Khan, and a news portal seeking public apology and Rs 1.1 crore in damages. Payal Ghosh recently took to her Twitter and wrote that she won’t be apologizing to Richa. Now, Richa has shared a copy of court order which mentions that Payal Ghosh ‘will tender unconditional apology’.
After it was reported that Payal Ghosh’s lawyer Nitin Satpute agreed in the court to tender an apology in the defamation case, Payal had tweeted that she won’t be apologizing. However, now, Ricja Chadha ha simply shared a copy of the court order which reads, “At this stage, Mr Satpute representing the defendant no. 1 states on instruction that defendant no. 1 never intended to defame anyone and this his client is desirous of withdrawing her statement pertaining to the plaintiff. Mr Satpute states that the defendant no. 1 will also tender an unconditional apology.”
Sharing this, Richa Chadha captioned the post as, “WE WON! Satyamev Jayate! Grateful to the Hon. Bombay High Court for justice ! The order is now in public record, freely available for all on the High Court website. Thank you for your support, next hearing (for settlement) is on the 12th as is mentioned in the order.” Take a look:
