Richa Chadha VS Payal Ghosh: Bombay High Court Adjourns Former’s Defamation Case Against Ghosh And Others Till Oct 7
Hearing of Richa Chadha’s defamation case against Payal Ghosh and others has been adjourned till tomorrow. Reportedly, respondents didn’t arrive for the representation
In a recent twist, Bollywood actress Richa Chadha filed a defamation suit against Payal Ghosh for dragging her name while accusing filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. A recent Mumbai Mirror report suggested that the Gangs Of Wasseypur actress filed a lawsuit in the Bombay High Court against Payal Ghosh, Kamaal R Khan (KRK), and a news channel for their alleged defamatory statements against her. She also sought Rs 1.10 crore in damages from them.
In the recent development, the hearing of Richa’s lawsuit took place, today, via video conferencing before a judge from Bombay High Court. During the hearing, Chadha’s lawyers claimed that they served notices to Ghosh and other respondents in the case. Since there was no representation from Payal Ghosh, Bombay HC decided to adjourn the hearing to tomorrow, i.e., Wednesday, October 7. Recently, Richa shared the picture of a time-to-time update of her legal notice she sent to Payal.
A couple of days back, the Panga actress had shared a picture from the delivery agency about her legal notice being shipped and delivered to Payal Ghosh. Richa Chadha shared the picture and tweeted, “Update: The legal notice has been delivered to Ms.Ghosh.”
Meanwhile, Payal Ghosh reacted to Chadha’s defamation case against her, and said, “I don’t have anything to do with Richa Chadha. I did not defame her so I don’t understand what her case is all about. I have only stated what Mr. Kashyap had told me. It’s not my personal view. So this defamation case is not valid.
