Actress Riva Arora, who left the audience speechless with her exceptional performance in URI: The Surgical Strike, has been on the receiving end of negative criticism for quite some time now. It all started when she was brutally trolled by the netizens for featuring in music videos opposite Karan Kundrra and Mika Singh. Social media users tore her mother apart for giving her treatments to make her seem like a girl in her early 20s when she was just 12.

Dismissing the bizarre claims, Riva during her interview with Indian Express, shared that she is most definitely not 12-years-old. Talking about how she will never focus on such negativity and that she will soon reveal her real age, she said, “Well, I never focus on such criticism, I always believe that if there’s negativity, there’s also a positive side. I choose to look at the brighter side. The love that I get today has overpowered everything. My actual age will be revealed soon. Shedding light on how her family reacted to the controversy, Riva shared that they constantly tease her when she needs cheering up after reading fake news about herself. She told the media publication, “They teased me that tu baarah saal ki hai kya? It’s a little funny to see and read these things. Talking about her ambition of making it big in the entertainment space as a versatile actor, she said, “I have started doing all kinds of roles and everything has changed completely. I want to be seen as an actor, who is versatile and not boxed as a child or young actor.”

For those unaware, Riva Arora made her debut with Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar when she was just one and a half years old. As a child artist she was seen appearing in a number of critically-acclaimed projects like Mom, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Bharat, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Section 375, TVF Tripling Season 2 and Chhatriwali.
