Swara Bhasker REACTS To Vivek Agnihotri’s Derogatory Remarks Against A Muslim Journalist; Says, ‘How Vile And Poisoned Has Become New India’
Ever since the success of his movie The Kashmir Files, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has been very blunt about his hatred for certain sections of the society. Not only has he actively called out social media users for criticising him and his movie, but he recently threatened a journalist after they fact-checked his tweet about The Kashmir Files winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. 

Swara Bhasker, who has been making the headlines for her court marriage with political activist Fahad Ahmad, has strongly reacted to his tweets. Taking to the micro-blogging website, called out the filmmaker for his vile thought process. She wrote, “Vivek Agnihotri name-calling, swearing at, accusing Muslim citizens on public platforms simply because they are Muslim is a glaring example of how vile, poisoned, bigoted & majoritarian our public discourse has become in ‘New India’. For the unversed, after articles fact-checking his tweet were written by media publications, Vivek went out on an all out war with journalist Mohammed Zubair, owner of ALT News, calling him names and threatening him. In a tweet, the director had written, “ Instead of metaphors, I should call you exactly what you are: Genocide denier, terror supporter, perpetrator of women harassment (Nupur Sharma) instigator of #SarTanSeJuda (Kanhaiya Lal) & anti-truth pimp of Hindu’s enemies. Prepare yourself for qayamat when it comes. The end.”

Talking about the movie, which caused an uproar in 2022, starred Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty and many others in pivotal roles. The Kashmir Files narrated the story of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley in the 1990s. It went on to become one of the highest-grossing movies in Bollywood in 2022.
