Ranbir Kapoor-Rashmika Mandanna starrer Animal is still making waves on the internet, days after its release. The movie left the netizens divided. While a section praised Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s storytelling and direction, others bashed the makers for its sexist dialogues and glorifying toxic male mentality. Well, now Roja actress Madhoo Shah has revealed that she was extremely surprised after watching the movie.
In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, the actress shared that she was surprised to know that her song from the movie Roja was used in the movie. Shah explained that for the first few seconds, she didn’t realise that it was her song that was playing. However, when she realised that it was her song ‘Roja Jaaneman,’ she was left excited. Talking about the same, Pinkvilla quoted her saying, “I saw Animal immediately after it released and I didn’t even realise that it was my song for a few seconds when the sequence came about. I kept thinking in mind, ‘Something about the music seems very familiar.’ Then I realised that it was the music of Roja. The Roja Jaaneman bit they’ve used is the one where Arvind Swami and my character was dancing in the snow. I was so excited!”
For those who don’t know, Ranbir’s musical entry in Animal is the instrumental versions of Chhoti Si Aasha and Roja Jaaneman. Originally composed by AR Rahman, the background score for the movie was created by a Hyderabad-based music band Threeory. Further talking about it, the 54-year-old actress revealed that she texted Neetu Kapoor. Not only did she express her love for the film and admiration for Ranbir’s performance, but she also shared her surprise that the makers of the film added Roja’s music for his entry. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Triptii Dimri in pivotal roles. Released on 1 December 2023. the movie has garnered a lot of mixed chatter because of its toxic and ignorant dialogues and plotline. The movie has become one of the highest-grossing movies of 2023 in Bollywood.
