Saif Ali Khan Explains Why Alaia F And Not Sara Ali Khan Plays His Daughter In Jawaani Jaaneman
Saif Ali Khan is in a mood to talk. And why not? Certain media reports about his upcoming film Jawaani Jaaneman, starring Alaia F and not Sara, have irritated him and he wishes to hap on the truth
Saif Ali Khan has begun shooting for his next film Jawaani Jaaneman. The film will mark Pooja Bedi's daughter Alaia F as Saif's onscreen daughter. The film's director, Nitin Kakkar had told a section of the media, "It is a father-daughter story." Last year, Jawani Janeman's producer Jay Shewakramani took to Instagram to announce that Saif is co-producing the film.
The makers of Jawaani Jaaneman are now setting the record straight ! Contrary to a media report dwelling on the subject of the film which percolated that Saif plays a naughty father in his 50s who remarries at an age when men in India are not supposed to have sex, sources close to the film say that Jawaani Jaaneman is just a coming-of-age film and a fun, light hearted family drama. Says Saif Ali Khan, who plays the father's character, "The reports are ridiculous. I'm excited about producing the film with Jay because it's a team coming together to try and create a family comedy that's a relevant. Jawaani Jaaneman is a modern slice of life movie that people will connect to on so many levels".
There was also loose talk in another section of the media of Sara Ali Khan essaying the role of Saif's daughter in the film. However, inside sources reveal that while Saif and Sara would love to work together in a film , it has to interest them both equally. According to Saif, " I would have loved to have Sara in Jawaani Jaaneman but that would have meant her choosing this film over everything else she's doing because we wanted this film to be the first film of the person we cast. I feel Sara's career graph and trajectory is in a good place and in a way I'm happy it's separate from mine at the moment. We are very excited to launch Alaia with this film and she is perfect for the part."
