Saina: Ace Badminton Player Saina Nehwal Won’t Promote Her Biopic Starring Parineeti Chopra - EXCLUSIVE

Saina Nehwal has a lot to be proud of. Her achievements in the field of badminton are unparalleled. Now, comes a biopic on her life which has turned out really well. In fact, many of the scenes in the film are straight out of Saina ’s life. Parineeti Chopra who plays Saina worked closely in collaboration the ace player, and the wonderful actress Meghna Malik who plays Saina’s mother Usha Rani, knows the real Usha Rani well.

The makers of Saina had hoped to see Saina Nehwal promote her biopic much in the same way that the real MS Dhoni had joined hands with Sushant Singh Rajput to promote Dhoni: The Untold Story. Lamentably, this did not happen with Saina. The real Saina Nehwal has apparently declined the offer to promote the film.

A source close to the film reveals, “Director Amole Gupte got along famously with the real Saina during the film’s making. He had personally urged her to be part of the film’s promotion. Lekin Saina sirf apne mann ka karti hai(she does what she wills). She isn’t even in the country right now. So there’s no question of Saina promoting her biopic.”

Talking about Parineeti being able to get the character of Saina Nehwal right, the actress had recently revealed about her preparations for the same. In one of the interviews with BT, Parineeti was quoted saying, "Between 2019 and 2020, I must have sent her messages daily, tapping her for the smallest details about her life, and she has been so kind and sweet to answer every query in detail. Saina was with me all along because she also wanted to ensure this goes right.”
