Parineeti Chopra’s upcoming film Saina is a biopic based on the famous badminton star Saina Nehwal. The first poster of the film was unveiled by the makers of Saina on Tuesday. Parineeti will be seen playing the lead role in the film that revolves around badminton player Saina Nehwal’s journey. As the poster released yesterday, Netizens were quick to point out a goof-up in the poster, and they trolled the makers for having overlooked this gaffe in the poster.
The poster shows a hand reaching out for a shuttlecock, and appears as if the person is serving the shuttlecock. However, this over-arm serve is actually against the rules of badminton, and Twitterati pointed out this is how they serve in Tennis, and not Badminton. People pointed out that an over-arm serve like that is considered as a fault in Badminton, and that the serve in badminton is always below the server’s waist.
While one social media user reacted to the poster of Saina and wrote, “Is it Sania mirza biopic Or Saina Nehwal's,” while another Twitter user wrote, “This looks more like Sania and less of Saina looking at the position of the hand..” Many questioned whether the biopic is about badminton or tennis. Take a look:
Apart from Priyanka Chopra, Saina also stars Manav Kaul and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. The film, directed by Amole Gupte will release in theatres on March 26. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Sujay Jairaj, and Rasesh Shah.
