Last year, ace tennis player Sania Mirza made headlines owing to trouble in her marriage with Shoaib Malik. It was reported that the couple is heading for divorce and is living separately. Some media reports even mentioned that Pakistani model Ayesha Omar was the reason behind their separation as Shoaib reportedly had an extra-marital affair with Ayesha. Amid their divorce speculations, Sania has shared a cryptic note about the past year while wishing fans a Happy New Year.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the tennis player posted her selfies and said though 2020 has been difficult for her on some occasions, she is grateful. Alongside her candid pictures, Sania wrote, “I don’t have a long and profound caption for 2022 . But I have a few cute selfies Happy New Year everyone ..Ps: 2022 you really kicked my butt on some occasions but I’ve gotcha now #grateful #youcanthandlethetruth.” While the first two pictures featured Sania striking poses for the camera, the last click showed her posing with her son in the car. Meanwhile, as per reports, Sania caught Shoaib cheating on her and thus decided to end their marriage. Pakistani media even reported that the star couple is already divorced and is co-parenting their son Izhaan. For the unversed, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik got married on April 12, 2010, at Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad. Their first tied the knot as per traditional Hyderabadi Muslim wedding rituals followed by Pakistani wedding customs. They were blessed with their first child, son, Izhaan in 2018.
