Bollywood actor Sanjay has had his fair share of ups and downs, including several controversies. Right from being in the limelight for his affairs with several women to getting arrested for his alleged involvement in 1993’s Mumbai bombings; the actor has sure lived an adventurous life, majorly for all the wrong reasons. Well, fast forward to now, the actor has been acquitted from all the charges and is in a happy space, both personally and professionally. Now, Sanjay Dutt is gearing up for his next – Prassthanam – which also happens to be his home production.

And, ahead of its release, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, both Sanjay Dutt and his wife Maanayata Dutt opened up on the changes that they have seen in the past few years. Maanayata revealed that, in the past, the actor used to be disturbed over the fact that his father and support system, Sunil Dutt, isn’t alive to hear the news that he has gotten rid of the tag ‘terrorist’ from the court. “Earlier, he used to be disturbed, his father didn’t live to hear the court say that he was not a terrorist and acquit him from TADA charges. That had tarnished the family name and bothered him for years," said Maanayata.

Adding further to her statement, Sanjay Dutt stated that the dark clouds are finally gone. He also gave Rishi Kapoor’s reference, who has just returned to Mumbai after more than a year, post his cancer treatment in NYC. “The dark clouds are gone, I am finally at peace. Like Chintu sir, I am happiest on a film set and now, I can do the work I want to do,” said the actor.

Meanwhile, Prassthanam, also starring Ali Fazal, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Panday and Amyra Dastur in pivotal roles, will hit the big screens on September 20, 2019.
