For the unversed, Trishala is Sanjay's daughter from his first wife, Richa. They had gotten married in the USA in 1987. Two years into the marriage, Richa was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and she passed away in New York in 1996. Since then, Trishala has been staying with her maternal grandparents. The Shamshera actor then went on to marry Maanayata Dutt, and the two are proud parents of their twins, Shahraan and Iqra.
