During a candid conversation with standup comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi for Netflix India, Sara confirmed her interest in joining politics. This revelation aligns with her academic background, as she holds a degree in history and political science from Columbia University. In a previous interview, Sara had hinted at her political aspirations, emphasizing that it is not merely a backup plan but a genuine passion she intends to pursue in the future. Speaking about the same she said, "I have a degree in history and political science, so I want to pursue politics maybe later in life, but it's not a backup plan. I am not leaving, and if people will give me the opportunity to be here (Bollywood), I will be here for as long I can."
Sara's portrayal of Usha Mehta in Ae Watan Mere Watan garnered praise from Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. He commended Sara for bringing the historical figure to life on screen and expressed gratitude for her portrayal.
