Saroj Khan: My Assistant Madhuri Dixit Was There, They Didn’t Need Me Around
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s contemporary of version of Thanedaar’s Tamma Tamma has got the nation grooving, but one individual isn’t chuffed – Saroj Khan.

The veteran choreographer choreographed the original number which featured Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt. While Madhuri turned Alia and Varun’s dance guru and helped them perfect the iconic dance steps, Sanjay was seen counting down to Tamma Tamma’s release.

However, Khan wasn’t part of the goings on. So much so that she wasn’t on the guest list when the makers of Badrinath Ki Dulhania invited those associated with the original snazzy number to have a dekho at the modern version.

Needless to say, this didn’t go down well with Saroj and she seems miffed with the scenario. Talking about being ignored by the makers of Badrinath Ki Dulhania, she told a leading daily, “Why should they call me? They don’t owe me anything. Maybe they felt since my assistant Madhuri Dixit was there, they didn’t need me around.”

She added, “You have to ask them why I wasn’t invited. I don’t mind not being invited….The new version of any of my dance numbers have to be of some standard for them to invite me to watch it.”

When asked what she thought of the new Tamma Tamma, Saroj took a diplomatic stand and said, “I haven’t seen the whole song. I’ve just seen the trailer. And I can’t comment.”

Clearly, the ace choreographer is ticked off. We wonder what the makers of the upcoming film or Alia-Varun have to say about Saroj’s sarcastic remarks!
