Satyameva Jayate 2: John Abraham-Divya Khosla Kumar Starrer Release Date Postponed Due To Spike In COVID-19 Cases; Makers Issue Official Statement
Just recently, the makers of John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar’s Satyameva Jayate 2 have released a statement, saying the release date of the film has been postponed due to the spike in COVID-19 cases
Long back, actor John Abraham kick-started the shoot of Satyameva Jayate 2, also starring Divya Khosla Kumar. Due to the lockdown, the shoot came to a halt; however, the duo then started shooting in Varanasi, Lucknow somewhere in December and they were said to be continuing the shoot till January 2021. The film was slated to release on May 12, 2021, but due to the Coronavirus crisis, the makers have now decided to push further the release date of the film. Just recently, the makers of John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar’s Satyameva Jayate 2 have released a statement, informing that the film release has been postponed due to the spike in COVID-19 cases.
The statement was released on the official Instagram handle of T-series, captioning, ‘Announcement.’ The statement read, “In these unprecedented times, nothing matters more than the safety and health of our countrymen & patrons. Our film “Satyameva Jayate 2” will now release on a later date. Till then let’s keep our masks on and do our best to keep our loved ones and ourselves out of harm’s way. Jai Hind. - Team SMJ2.” Nonetheless, the makers have revealed the new release date yet.
Talking about the second instalment of the film, Satyameva Jayate 2 tackles corruption in all spheres from the police to politicians, industrialists, and the common man. “Satyameva Jayate was a commercial hit not just at the box office but audiences loved the action and drama. John has become our nation’s action hero since then. Nikkhil and we decided to take the franchise ahead and continue to make entertaining commercial cinema with Milap and John. The success of the first part definitely adds responsibility on us to deliver a bigger and better film this time around," says producer Bhushan Kumar.
Due to the rise in the country, even filmmaker Rohit Shetty has pushed the release date of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi ahead. The film was supposed to release in March this year.
