Seema & Nandita Hold Separate Prayer Meets Of Om Puri
The veteran star was remembered by the members of the film fraternity at two prayer meets, one organised by his second wife Nandita Puri and one held by first wife Seema Kapoor
The death of Om Puri sent shock waves through the film industry on Friday and the grief was evident as some of his collaborators gathered at a gurudwara in Four Bungalows (Andheri) for a prayer meet this evening (See the video above).
Shabana Azmi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Govind Nihalani, Mita Vashisht, Jackie Shroff, Karanvir Bohra and Divya Dutta were among those who were seen making their way into the service which was organised by Puri’s first wife Seema Kapoor and her brother Annu Kapoor.
The duo stood at the gate ushering the mourners in.
Interestingly just a few kilometres away, Om Puri’s second wife Nandita Puri had organised a memorial service of her own at the ISKCON Temple in Juhu.
Some of the biggest names in Bollywood, including Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan gathered for that prayer meet.

Puri's close friend Naseerudin also came with wife Ratna Pathak Shah to ISKCON Temple. Other celebrities present at the prayer meet were, Kabir Bedi, Mini Mathur, Shyam Benegal, Vipul Shah, Nandita Das, Priya Dutt, Pankaj Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Tisca Chopra and David Dhawan.
Shabana Azmi, Divya Dutta and Govind Nihalani were among those who attended both the services.
Puri died at his residence on January 6 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 66.
