Shah Rukh Khan Recalls His Reaction When Aditya Chopra Offered Him Pathaan, Says, ‘Quickly Jumped On It, Worked Out And Built A Body’
Shah Rukh Khan opens up about his desire to star in an action movie
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make his comeback on the big screen after five long years. The superstar will be seen in an out-and-out action movie alongside John Abraham and Deepika Padukone. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie has become the talk of the town ever since its announcement. During a recent interaction, SRK talked about why he took up the film as soon as Aditya Chopra offered it to him.
Calling it his ‘life’s dream,’ King Khan revealed that her always wanted to do action movies. He recalled when he and the YRF head honcho were starting out, the latter was writing an action script for him. However later the idea was dropped and Aditya offered him Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaaenge, the movie that established him as the King Of Romance in Bollywood. Quoted by Indian Express, SRK said, “I have had this big desire to do an action film, ever since I entered the film industry. When we (producer Aditya Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan) started off, he wrote action film for me. I never thought I could do romance or social drama. But one day, he came to me and said, ‘Can we drop this idea, Shah Rukh? I’ve got a love story to do’.” He went on to reveal that thought love stories were rather ‘boring’.
Recalling his reaction when he was offered Pathaan, the 57-year-old actor said that he quickly started training himself with the fear that the producer would cancel the movie due to COVID_19 restrictions. He said, “That was years ago. So, this time when he said Pathaan, it was COVID and just a little shooting was allowed. I quickly jumped on it and told my team, ‘Let’s do it before he cancels.’ So, I worked out and built a body. But they didn’t want any of it. They told me, ‘You just do cool action. You are easy’.”
He went on to add that he hopes his kids like the ‘over-the-top’ action movie. While, the trailer of the film is yet to be revealed, he said that he “whistled the loudest” when he saw it for the first time. ALSO READ: VIRAL! The movie is all set to release on the big screens on January 25.
