Shahid Kapoor And Kareena Kapoor Hug Each Other: Oh, What A Moment

The wait is finally over. The award season is here and the 1st gala, Lux Golden Rose Awards, was held last night at Reliance Studios. The event, which was a celebration of Bollywood’s most beautiful women and their iconic performances in Hindi cinema, had a bevy of actresses including Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Malaika Arora, Sridevi, Aditi Rao Hydari among others in attendance. Amongst the men, Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Arjun Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput amped up the glam quotient of the evening.

With so many stars under one roof, how can spicy happenings evade us?  So let me give you this shocking piece of news that transpired backstage. It so happened that Shahid Kapoor was waiting to go on stage for his performance and former flame Kareena Kapoor, looking ravishing in red, stepped in to use the washroom. Usually, exes tend to just exchange pleasantries and carry on, but what happened next blew me away! Both Shahid and Kareena instantly hugged and congratulated each other. While, Shahid congratulated and wished Kareena all the best for her soon to be born baby, Kareena congratulated her Udta Punjab co-star for his recent parenthood.

It was heartening to see two ex-lovers stars be so comfortable in each other’s presence.

Kareena and Shahid dated for 3 years before calling it quits in 2007. Post their break-up, the duo has maintained a safe distance and ensured that they never cross each other’s paths. However, 9 years after they called time on their relationship, they shared the dais during the trailer launch of their film, Udta Punjab. Interestingly, the two did not share screen space in the movie. While the tension between the former lovers was palpable initially, Kareena took the initiative to break the ice and from then on, the two seemed rather comfortable as they spoke about the film and working with each other.

A few months ago, it was reported that when the news of Shahid and wife Mira Rajput being blessed with a baby girl spread, Kareena texted Shahid wishing him and Mira all the luck for their new journey. Awww. All’s well that ends well.
