Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has been regarded as one of the rare gems of Bollywood. While he is often credited for his versatile acting, his movie choices often leave the netizens scratching their heads. Lately, the actor has been on the receiving end of negative criticism over his controversial statement of marriage being women fixing a messed up man. Well it seems like the netizens don’t want to stop there. They have now criticised him for expressing Alia Bhatt embracing mother in her 20s, while his own wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor was 21 when she gave birth to their daughter Misha.
Having worked together in movies like Shaandaar (2015) and Udta Punjab (2016), Shahid, during a recent interview shared how he can’t believe that Alia is a mother. Quoted by Bollywood Life, the Bloody Daddy actor said, “Now that she’s a mother, I can’t believe she’s a mother. When I worked with her, she was 21. Sometimes, when you spend a lot of time with somebody and then you’ve not met, you still feel they are that only." It is safe to say that his statement did not go down well with the netizens. They took the social media by storm to remind him that his wife Mira is only a year younger than the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress. One netizen said, “Wasn’t his wife actually 21 when they had a child? Weird that he thinks it’s too young.” Another said, “When they married, Mira was 20 and Shahid was 34. Alia is only a year older than Mira.” A section of the internet even came out to his defence by stating that he wasn’t talking about the age or the time she embraced motherhood. For the unversed, Shahid and Mira got married in July 2015. Since then they have set many couple goals for their fans by posting adorable social media posts for and with each other. They are proud parents of their kids- daughter Misha and son Zain.
