Shekhar Suman, in a recent interview, opened up about how he felt being compared to Amitabh Bachchan. He revealed that he earlier rejected any comparisons to Amitabh Bachchan, and didn’t like it initially when people called him ‘Amitabh Bachchan of television’. He said that back then he felt like he had his own identity and wanted to carve a niche for himself. However, he said that he realized how stupid that was, as he was getting the greatest compliment.
While speaking to Pinkvilla, Shekhar Suman said, “Initially I was stupid enough and I didn't like the fact I was being called Amitabh Bachchan of television. I said ‘I have my own identity and I am trying to carve a niche for myself', and I realised how stupid I was. I was getting the greatest compliment." He also shared that he used to think people were getting on his nerves by comparing him to Big B. “Amitabh Bachchan is synonymous with anything that is the best in the world," he said.
A few weeks ago on Twitter, Shekhar Suman had shared a picture of his beautiful house, after which a troll asked him how he could afford such a luxurious lifestyle. In response, Shekhar Suman had tweeted, “Mehnat se.imaandaari se.lagan se.”
In another tweet, Shekhar Suman also shared a photo of a news article from years ago in which he had been described as the Amitabh Bachchan of the television industry. He wrote, “Ab samajh mein aaya?” The news report claimed that Shekhar Suman charges six times more than the other successful television stars in the industry.
