After being a judge on various dance reality shows, Shilpa Shetty was all set to be a part of the next season of MasterChef India. But sadly, we may not see that happen anytime soon. We have heard that the actress’ deal with Star Plus for the next season of MasterChef India has hit a roadblock. The actress will possibly not collaborate with the channel as she had an argument with Star Plus over sponsors.
While there has been no official confirmation on this if it turns out to be true, then it’s quite unfortunate. It was in the month of August that we had informed you that the actress will be the face of the show.
The first season was judged by Akshay Kumar in the year 2010 along with chefs Kunal Kapur and Ajay Chopra. The second season saw Vikas Khanna, Kunal Kapur and Ajay Chopra on the judging panel. Then, in the third season, Ajay Chopra was replaced by Sanjeev Kapoor.
Next, in season 4, Vikas Khanna and Sanjeev Kapoor were joined by Ranveer Brar and then, the fifth part saw Vikas Khanna, Kunal Kapur and Zorawar Kalra. The last one went on air in 2016 and it’s been 3 years yet the makers haven’t launched the next season. In the interim, there was the Junior MasterChef India that aired on Star Plus in 2013.
Meanwhile, speaking of her comeback film Nikamma, it is being directed by Sabbir Khan. Apart from Shilpa Shetty, the movie also stars newbie Abhimanyu Dassani and popular face of the YouTube platform Shirley Setia.
