Shobha De Takes A Dig At Bollywood Stars Vacationing In The Maldives As COVID-19 Cases Surge In India; Says 'Not Everyone Is Sonu Sood'
There are many Bollywood stars from Disha Patani, Tiger Shroff, Alia Bhatt to Janhvi Kapoor who have been vacationing in the Maldives and sharing pictures and videos on Instagram. Several people called out the stars for vacationing and showing off even as India continues to battle the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic. Shobha De, who is known to speak her mind joked about how stars need a place to show off their bikini bodies during these tough times as well. She even compared them to actor Sonu Sood who has been doing his best to help the needy since last year.

Shobhaa De wrote, "Famous holidaymakers are living it up on those photogenic atolls, and it is really mean of people to criticise bechara film stars for being so insensitive, while India continues to top covid charts." She further added, "Why grudge them these small indulgences? Their money, their holiday. What are they supposed to do? Not everyone is Sonu Sood."

Earlier this week, Shobha De shared a post and mentioned how vacationing in the Maldives was not the right thing to do during a pandemic. She shared a note originally written by an Instagram user and wrote, "Hello!!! Listen up! Loved this post passionately articulated by Rohini Iyer. Wanted to share it here, and I am not good with techno stuff - Repost etc. Okay? Idea is to get her message across."

She further added, "It is the height of vulgarity to flaunt those ridiculous pictures. Enjoy the Maldives by all means. You are blessed if you can get such a break in these bleak times. But do everyone a favour... keep it private." For the uninitiated, The Ministry of Tourism recently shared a tweet announcing the suspension of tourists from India at inhabited islands. Several Bollywood stars who visited the Maldives were trolled by the netizens.
