Casting couch is the sad reality of the entertainment industry and many actresses have faced it at some point in their careers. While many talks about it openly, a few stars prefer to stay mum. The latest celeb to share her experience on the casting couch is Bollywood actress Shama Sikander, who is known for her role in Aamir Khan starrer 'Mann'. In a recent interview, she narrated her experience and revealed that producers wanted to be ‘friends with her.’

Speaking to Bollywood Life, Shama reflected back and asserted that over time the industry has changed a lot for a good. Present generation producers are far more professional and treat people respectfully. Shama Sikander was quoted saying, “The industry has changed so much, and for good. Today, young producers are far more professional and treat people respectfully. They do not have the notion of sex for work. In the past, I have had producers tell me that they wanted to be friends with me. I was like, how can we be friends if we do not work together. I feel the whole concept of asking for sex in return for work is the lowest of low.”


She added that some of these producers and makers were well-established names in Bollywood. Sikander also pointed out that the casting couch is not just limited to the film industry, it exists everywhere. However, the actress also explained that it’s wrong to blame the entire Bollywood for it as she also met some nicest men in the industry.  

Work-wise, Shama Sikander took a break after getting married to her longtime boyfriend James Milliron. She is currency reading the scripts to make a comeback with a good project.
