Slumdog Millionaire actor Madhur Mittal has been booked for alleged sexual assault by the Khar police. The report stated that an FIR was registered against the actor by his former girlfriend. Madhur gained worldwide recognition after he played the role of Salim Malik in the 2008 Oscar-winning movie. The film won several Academy Awards and Mittal was awarded Screen Actors Guild Award for his "outstanding performance by a cast" in Slumdog Millionaire. The actor is also well-known for his performance in the TV show Shakalaka Boom Boom and his most recent film, Million Dollar Arm.
According to the latest report by Free Press Journal, the actor was booked for allegedly injuring and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend on February 13. The report stated that Madhur allegedly barged into his ex-girlfriend’s residence, under alcohol influence. The victim’s lawyer, Niranjani Shetty was reported stating that her client had parted ways with Madhur two days before she was sexually assaulted. The incident took place on February 11, as per the report.
As per the victim’s lawyer, Madhur was allegedly extremely enraged. She alleged that it was a sexual attack on her client. Shetty said in her statement, “Madhur Mittal was livid with anger. He got into my client's room and without giving her any chance to talk, strangled her neck more than 15 times, slapped her multiple times, pulled her hair, yanked her ears and punched her under the right eye, physically lifted her and assaulted her. It was a sexual attack. She has sustained bruises and injuries all over her face, neck, chest, ribs, hands, back and ears and eyes."
Meanwhile, the report stated that Madhur Mittal is currently shooting in Jaipur for a web series. Reportedly, he was spotted under the complainant’s residence on February 15. Mittal has been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code for sexual harassment, sexual assault, and molestation. As per the report, the complainant is a resident of Bandra.
