Sonal Sehgal's Film Mantostaan Runs With Nude Scenes & Foul Language Without Censor Certificate!
Mantostaan, directed by Rahat Kazmi and starring Sonal Sehgal and Raghubir Yadav, has run into big trouble. The Censor Board is all set to file a FIR against the film's producers- Rahat Kazmi Films, Tariq Khan Films, Aaditya Pratap Singh Entertainment, the digital operator Real Image and the exhibitor Cinepolis Fun Republic.

The story goes that the producer had a special screening of the film at Cinepolis Fun Republic (Andheri) on Thursday April 20, without having a Censor Certificate. The film's official release date is May 5.

A large number of people, even those from Bollywood, saw the Uncensored version.

It is shocking that a reputed multiplex like Fun Republic allowed the film to run without checking the Censor Certificate.

As soon as they heard that the Censor Board is planning to take legal action against them, the multiplex in question has been sending request messages to Censor Chief Pahlaj Nihalani to absolve them from this and laying the blame squarely on Real Image.

But Nihalani is no mood to relent. Speaking to SpotboyE.com last night, he said, "What has happened is ridiculous. This film is still lying on the Censor table. It has lot of objectionable nudity and cuss words and the film's producers were very much in the loop. We will not take such irresponsible behaviour lying down. We are filing a FIR against him, Real Image and Fun Republic. When a promo or trailer cannot be run without a clearance certificate from us, how on earth did Mantostaan see the light of day on the big screen?"

The International award winning film opened at Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes. The film, a dark satire, is based on four burning stories and India-Pakistan partition. Mantostaan also stars Shoib Nikash Shah, Virendra Saxena, Raina Basnet, Sakhi Bhat, Tariq Khan and Rahat Kazmi.
