Sonali Bendre Denies Reality Shows Use Sob Stories For Higher TRPs: There’s so Much Poverty In India, No Need To Create Such Stories’
Sonali Bendre is currently seen judging the reality show ‘Dance India Dance Lil Masters 5’ with actress Mouni Roy and choreographer Remo D'souza. The dance-based show marked Bendre's comeback to television after four years. While it is often being claimed that reality shows create heartbreaking and sobbing stories of contestants to increase their TRPs, Sonali in a recent interview has opened up about the same. She stated that sadly there is so much disparity and poverty in our country that there is no need to create such stories.

While speaking to ETimes, the actress denied such claims and said that the disparity in India is so much that the makers don’t need to create sobbing stories.  “There’s so much disparity in our country, poverty in our country that for parents it is like, ‘Mera baccha iss haalat se niklega and uski life banegi (my kid will get to come out of this situation and he will get a better life). Ye jo situation hai, hum jahan baithe hain it is very easy to comment (It is very easy to comment on such a situation). But the fact is there is disparity in our country, aur woh jahan se aa rahe hain unko unke talent ke badle ye jo mil raha hai woh zaruri hai (the place they come from, it is important for what they are getting in return for their talent) and they deserve everything that they are getting… There’s a hope for them. So you don’t need to create it, it is the reality of their life,” Sonali explained.
