Sonam Kapoor's The Zoya Factor Co-Star Dulquer Salmaan Accused Of Body-Shaming A Journalist; Actor Apologises, 'It Wasn’t Intentional'
South sensation Dulquer Salmaan, who had recently made his Bollywood debut in The Zoya Factor, has landed himself in controversy, two months after the release of his first production venture, Varane Avashyamund. It so happened that a Mumbai-based journalist has slammed the film’s entire team for using her picture for an advertisement, that too without her consent. Taking to her Twitter, the journalist slammed the makers Varane Avashyamund for body-shaming her publicly. The actor quickly took notice of her complaint and issued an apology.

Along with sharing her screengrabs from the film, the reporter wrote, "Dear @dulQuer @DQsWayfarerFilm Thank you for the feature in your film but I’d like you to excuse me from body-shaming on a public forum. The concerned image was used without my consent & knowledge in your film. I’d like to claim ownership of the same. Varane Avashyamund.” She added, “While the legal suites would follow, how about a public apology for now?”

Actor-turned-producer Dulquer Salmaan apologised and also called it an unintentional error from their end. He replied, “We take full responsibility for the error on our behalf. Will look into it with concerned departments of the film to understand how the images were sourced. I apologise from my end and from the film as well as @DQWayfarerFilm for any difficulties caused. It wasn’t intentional.”

Varane Avashyamund’s director, too, apologised for the unintentional mistake. He wrote, “First of all we are extremely sorry for the discomfort caused. There wasn’t any intention to disrespect or objectify women, as the content of this film is in itself against sexism.  We do state our apology on behalf of the technical crew of this film.”
