The people of Delhi have placed their trust in Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party once again. After the counting of votes, Arvind Kejriwal led-AAP has witnessed a landslide victory in the 2020 Delhi legislative assembly election results, leaving other parties behind. As Aam Aadmi Patry witness a big win, recently, author Chetan Bhagat took to his Twitter handle to tweet and celebrate the victory. Now, actress Sonam Kapoor took jibe at the author on social media for his ‘Liberal Purist’ tweet.
After Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party has achieved a landslide victory in the 2020 Delhi legislative assembly election results, Indian author Chetan Bhagat took to his Twitter to share his opinions on the same. He tweeted, “AAP learnt to be liberal, but not so much to fall into the trap of giving constant liberal agniparikshas. Their leader read Hanuman Chalisa. Liberal purists would have said this is wrong. But he won. If he listened to liberal purists he never would.” In his tweet, Chetan spoke about how AAP learned to be liberal, but not enough to fall into the trap of giving constant liberal Agniparikshas. He added how their leader read Hanuman Chalisa and mentioned that although ‘Liberal purists’ would have called it wrong, he won. Replying to Chetan Bhagat’s ‘liberal purists’ tweet, Sonam Kapoor tweeted, “ Chetan my husband chants the hanuman chalisa everyday. Your choice of faith isn’t necessarily your political leaning. I don’t understand the logic and meaning of your tweet. I’m a practicing Hindu and I’m definitely a liberal.” Reacting to the liberal purists' tweet, Sonam shared that her husband chants Hanuman Chalisa every day and mentioned how one’s faith shouldn’t necessarily be your political leaning. The actress added that she didn’t understand the logic and meaning behind the tweet and concluded sharing that she is a practicing Hindu and definitely a liberal.
That great Sonam. You are definitely a liberal too. However, there are some purists who feel ANY religious display in politics in wrong. It is those who won't approve. They may have a point even. However, it is an unwinnable stance.

In his reply to Sonam's tweet, Chetan Bhagat went on to explain to Sonam about his tweet and tried to make the actress understand about what he thinks on the topic.
