Sooryavanshi: Karan Johar Announces Akshay Kumar Starrer Will Release Only In Theatres This April 2021; Says ‘The Wait Is Finally Over’

Bollywood filmmaker and producer, Karan Johar made an official announcement related to the release of Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif film Sooryavanshi. He made the announcement via an Instagram post. On the occasion of director Rohit Shetty’s birthday, KJo said the film will hit theatres this April 2021. Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi, featuring Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in a cameo appearance is one of the much-anticipated films of the year. Many fans are eagerly waiting for the film’s release since the trailer was launched in March 2020.
Karan Johar shared a creative video featuring the film’s journey so far right from the trailer launch. He shared the video and wrote, “ #Sooryavanshi30thApril : The wait is finally over!” KJo continued, “We promised you all the #Sooryavanshi experience in cinemas and it's time to fulfil that promise! So mark your calendars for 30th April 2021. #Sooryavanshi30thApril” Karan made the announcement and revealed that Sooryavanshi will release in theatres on April 30, 2021. He then went on and wished the entire team luck for the release of Sooryavanshi. Johar also send loads of love to Rohit Shetty, who celebrates his Birthday today. Karan shared that it’s always a blast to work with Shetty and mentioned he’s looking forward to many more.
Confirming the same Shibashish Sarkar, CEO of Reliance Entertainment, the co-producers of Sooryavanshi, says, “A film is a director's medium ....what better way than to celebrate Rohit's birthday with the release date’s announcement of Sooryavanshi! Meanwhile, the trailer of Sooryavanshi was launched on March 2, 2020. The film was scheduled to release immediately in some days from then. However, in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, the movie release was postponed due to the shutting down of cinema halls during the government imposed lockdown.
