Diwali is just around the corner and so is Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi, which is all set to have a theatrical release this Friday, November 5. Previously, Sooryavanshi was slated to release on April 30, 2021, but sadly Covid-19 had other plans.
Meanwhile, the advance bookings have already begun and a recent Bollywood Hungama report suggests that the film is all set to witness a bumper opening. Surprisingly, that isn’t just limited to India, but even the overseas audience has been looking forward to the film.

Those in UAE, however, received a minor jolt when they realized that Sooryavanshi would release in their region on Friday, November 5, and not on Thursday, November 4.
A Bollywood Hungama report quoted a source saying, “The makers are of the opinion that this film should open worldwide on November 5. They feel that audiences across the globe should get a chance to access the film on the big screen on the same day.”

The source further added, “As everyone knows by now, both Rohit Shetty and Akshay Kumar are huge believers in numerology. They have been told to release the film on the 5th as it would prove lucky for them. Due to these reasons, Sooryavanshi won’t have a Thursday release in UAE or any other country.”
Sooryavanshi features Akshay Kumar as Anti-Terrorism Squad chief DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, while Katrina Kaif plays his love interest.

Ranveer Singh's Simba and Ajay Devgn's Singham feature in extended cameos in the film. Furthermore, the film also stars Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niharica Raizada, Vivan Bhatena, Sikandar Kher, Nikitin Dheer and Jaaved Jaaferi in important roles.
The Rohit Shetty directorial was supposed to release on March 24, 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown, it was postponed indefinitely. The producers then decided to release it on Diwali 2021.
