Sreesanth’s Lifetime Ban Reduced To 7 Years; Cricketer Wants To Finish His Career With 100 Test Wickets

Here’s good news for all the Sreesanth fans. The cricketer,
who had participated in Bigg Boss’ previous season and was banned from playing
on the field, will now be soon seen back to where he belongs. Yes, that's
right! The lifetime ban of Sreesanth has been reduced to 7 years. The actor took
to social media to inform his fans about it and also told them he will return
to the field in 2020. Posting a caricature picture of himself he wrote, “Never

In a statement, Sreesanth told a section of media, “I am extremely delighted with what I have heard now. Thanks to each one of my well-wishers who prayed for me and the prayers have been answered. I am 36 now and next year I will be 37. I have 87 Test wickets and my aim is I want to finish my career with 100 Test wickets. I am confident that I can return to the Indian Test team and always wanted to play under Virat Kohli.”
BCCI Ombudsman DK Jain told media, “In the report of the Commissioner there is no allegation that Mr Sreesanth did not co-operate in the Inquiry. Additionally, the BCCI has not been able to controvert the specific plea of Mr Sreesanth that the offences allegedly committed by him did not substantially damage the commercial value of the IPL matches or even the final result of the subject match."
"Although the BCCI has referred to his erratic behaviour, both on and off the field, with fellow players, but nothing has been brought on record by the BCCI to show that any sanction was imposed on him in the past. On the contrary, he was regularly participating in the national and international matches," the order further stated.
“For Mr Sreesanth, who is now in his late thirties, his
prime years as a Cricketer, particularly as a fast bowler may already be over.
I am of the view that banning Mr Sreesanth from participating in any kind of
commercial Cricket or from associating with any activities of the BCCI or its
affiliates, for a period of seven years with effect from 13.09.2013, i.e. the
date from which, the period of ban imposed by the Disciplinary Committee had
commenced, will meet the ends of justice.”
