Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and lyricist Javed Akhtar were in the news  for their recent Twitter war. In the tweet posted by Shekhar Kapur, he wrote that he was always in fear of intellectuals. This tweet was not received well by veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar and he lashed out at Shekhar Kapur in a series of tweets and even asked him to meet a good psychiatrist. The tweet by Shekhar Kapur reads, “Started life as refugee of Partition. Parents gave everything to make a life for kids. Was always in fear of intellectuals’. They made me feel insignicant. Small. Then suddenly embraced me after my films. I still fear them. Their embrace is like a bite of snake. Still a refugee."

Now, in the latest development to this story, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa actress and Shekhar Kapur’s ex-wife Suchitra Krishnamoorthi took to Twitter and had something to say about this ugly feud. The actress criticized Javed Akhtar’s outburst on Shekhar Kapur and said that she was totally shocked by his personal attack on her ex-husband’s tweet. She further added that ‘Intellectualism is indeed a malaise.’  Her Tweet reads, “Totally shocked by @Javedakhtarjadu’ s very personal attack on @shekharkapur’ s tweet. After Suchitra wrote it on Twitter, Shekhar Kapur replied to her and showed his gratitude by posting folded hand emojis. For those unaware, Suchitra is also a singer known for her albums like Dole Dole, Dum Tara, Zindagi.


Shekhar Kapur and Suchitra Krishnamoorthi were once married and have a daughter named Kaveri Kapur. However, things turned sour between the couple and eventually led to their divorce in 2007.
