Sunil Grover Says Bollywood Isn’t A Dark World: ‘If You Join The Industry, You Have To Go Through The Grind’
Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, the conversation about nepotism in Bollywood, as well as other issues such as bullying, power play, ‘outsider-insider’ debate gained momentum on social media. Now, Sunil Grover, who has been a part of several TV shows, as well as movies including Baaghi, Pataakha, Bharat, has opened up on the struggles he has faced in the industry.  Speaking about his experience, he revealed that the key is to keep trying and he believes talent does get a chance.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Sunil Grover said, “Bollywood isn’t a dark world. I haven’t experienced anything wrong here. This industry gives you the chance to prove yourself and make a mark. If you have talent, you will find your niche.” He said that he did not have any connection in the entertainment industry when he started and he has faced his own share of struggles. “In the beginning, maine bahut dhakke khaaye, which is natural as a newbie has to learn the ways of a profession. I have been disappointed so many times. Yes, there were times jab main bhi shows pe replace hua hoon and of course, it hurt. It made me sad, but I have learnt that one has to keep trying. Maybe, those people felt that they could get someone who was more commercially viable. Luck matters here. But yeh darindo ki industry nahin hai,” said Sunil Grover.

He said that no one forces a person to join the industry, but if one does, they have to go through the grind. “I feel horrible for the people who have had harsh experiences in the industry,” he said.
