Sunny Leone REFUTES Cheating Claims Against Her; Calls Them ‘Slanderous’ And ‘Deeply Hurtful’
Sunny Leone recently hit the headlines as she was questioned by the Kerala Police last week at a private resort in Thiruvananthapuram in connection with a cheating case. The police reportedly interrogated her after a complaint was filed by an events manager in Kochi in an alleged cheating case. However, Sunny Leone has refuted these cheating claims and has called them ‘slanderous’ and ‘deeply hurtful’. IANS quoted her saying that half-baked information is as dangerous as misreporting.

As per the report in IANS, the complaint was filed by R Shriyas with the Kerala DGP, who alleged that he had paid Rs 29 lakh to the Ragini MMS 2 actor who promised to attend various inaugural functions in the state, but she did not. This is related to a 2019 event. However, Sunny Leone has claimed this was half information. “As an artiste, work is worship for me. I was nothing but gracious, understanding even moving my schedule multiple times over the organisers. But they wouldn't commit to a set date. It is customary that to lock an actor's time, an advance has to be paid upfront, which wasn't done till the nth hour," IANS quoted her saying.

She said that there was no way she wouldn’t have showed up if a date and time for an event had been set. “But due to a lack of timely payment from their end coupled with the fact that they dilly dallied on finalising the date, I bowed out. I have other commitments in Poovar,” she said.

She said that such ‘slanderous claims’ by the event co-ordinators are deeply hurtful and unsolicited. “I have already given the statement to the investigating officers and they are investigating the co-ordinators as well. Let law take its course," she added.

Meanwhile, IANS also quoted a source saying that the event was often getting rescheduled, and was clashing with her other work commitments. The source also said that the fees wasn’t fully paid and that Rs 12.5 lakh were yet to be cleared. According to the agreement, this sum of Rs 12.5 lakh was to be paid 7 days prior to the event, said the source to IANS.
