Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: Narcotics Control Bureau Files A Plea In High Court To Cancel Showik Chakraborty's Bail - REPORTS
The Narcotics Control Bureau stepped in to investigated Sushant Singh Rajput's death case after a drug angle emerged during the investigation of Enforcement Directorate. The NCB arrested Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, and they were sent to judicial custody. Reportedly, after spending almost a month in jail, in the month of October last year, Rhea was granted bail. However, her brother Showik received bail only in the month of December by Special Court. Now, the NCB has moved to High Court to cancel his bail.

As reported by NDTV.com, the investigating agency has filed a plea in the Bombay High Court stating that the special court hearing cases related to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act ignored the observations made by the HC while granting bail to Showik. In its plea, reportedly, NCB mentioned that High Court's observation that Showik Chakraborty seemed to be connected with those accused in the case, from whom commercial quantity of contraband was recovered, was ignored by the special court. The hearing of this plea is expected to happen on March 30.

Sushant Singh Rajput died on June 14, 2020. He was reportedly found hanging in his apartment in Bandra. Later, his family filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty and family reportedly accusing her of abetment to suicide and more. Since then, three investigating agencies stepped in to probe the case. Sushant Singh Rajput's fans have been demanding for an update in investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
