Sushant Singh Rajput’s GF Rhea Chakraborty Reveals Why She Didn’t Attend His Last Rites Despite Being Ready To Attend His Funeral

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, in his Mumbai residence at the age of 34. Later, the very same day, SSR’s mortal remains were taken for post-mortem and on June 15, a day after his demise, the family performed the last rites. On June 19 SpotboyE exclusively had reported that Rhea wasn't on the list of people who were to attend the funeral and the Sushant's family did not want her there. Now a few days back, a statement released by SSR’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde confirmed that she was not allowed to attend late actor’s last rites. Now, in an interview, Rhea Chakraborty revealed why she didn’t attend late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s funeral.
Speaking to India Today, the Jalebi actress shared that she was ready to attend Sushant’s funeral. Talking about her not being able to attend the last rites, Rhea Chakraborty said that she was all ready to go, but her friends from the industry advised her to not go. Rhea shared that her industry friends told her to not go as SSR’s family doesn’t want her there at his funeral. She then mentioned how her friends were worried for her that she’d be insulted and be asked to leave from there, by Sushant’s family.
During the interview, Rhea Chakraborty revealed that a list of people from the industry were allowed to attend the funeral and the list was made by the family and that her name was not in it. The actress shared that the list of people allowed to attend the funeral also had some names from the industry, but not hers. She also mentioned that two of her friends asked her to see Sushant Singh Rajput’s mortal remains for the last time. She continued to share that her friends asked her to do so as she will not get closure and it will be hard to accept the fact that he is no more.

Meanwhile, as of now, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating SSR’s death case. So far, today, Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty is being questioned by the CBI team at DRDO guesthouse.
