Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput's death by suicide, social media is abuzz with netizens talking about how the film industry functions. Netizens have called a war against nepotism and are calling out bigwigs of Bollywood for not supporting talent who do not belong to filmy families. However, in her recent interview, Swara Bhasker has shared that audiences too need to factor themselves and bring about a change in their consumption pattern.

In an interview with News Laundry, Swara Bhasker shared that if people have so much love and concern for the outsiders then they should go and watch their films in theatres. To back her point, she shared that one must look at the box office collection of films like Rajkummar Rao's Trapped, Irrfan Khan's Karwaan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Motichoor Ka Laddoo and more and compare it to films like Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter's Dhadak, Student of The Year 1 and 2 etc. She tried to make a point that it is audiences who are interested in watching starkids.
