Taapsee Pannu Denies Plans Of Playing Sania Mirza In Tennis Champ's Biopic: 'Not Even Aware Of Any Such Project'
Reports claiming that Taapsee Pannu will be playing Sania Mirza in her biopic are untrue as the actress has refuted all of them and clarified she isn't playing the ace tennis player on screen

A report on Wednesday morning claimed Taapsee Pannu is gearing up to play Tennis Champ Sania Mirza. This, after she completes the biopic Shaabaash Mithu, in which she plays cricketer Mithali Raj.
However, Taapsee completely denies any such plans. “Am I playing Sania Mirza? Not that I am aware of. I am not even aware of any such project.”
A Sania Mirza biopic has been on the anvil for several years now. It never materializes because apparently Ms Mirza holds the sole right of her life story and would like to play herself in her biopic.
Taapsee has her hands full playing real-life athletes in two of her forthcoming films: Shaabaash Mithu and Rashmi Rocket.
Is it scary that audiences expect Taapsee to be the central character in every film? "It's challenging. But also gratifying. In Thappad, I was the central character. But the other parts were also beautifully written. If you have seen Anubhav’s Mulk and Article 15 you would know his films have a beautiful arc and a graph for every character. Even Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pawa were fabulously written into Article 15. In Thappad, there were other beautifully written female characters. My story was at the centre of Thappad the way Rishi Kapoor was in Mulk and Ayushmann Khurrana in Article 15. But there were other characters who will make you equally excited."
